women working in hairdressers

Why do they wear so little? - the staff are women - the clients are women.

Never have been able to figure it out who they showing their bodies too - s it passing men?

Passed by 2 different ones at lunch today and they were wearing less that they would in a nightclub on a Sat night. One had a backless gold top with a tiny string holding it on and only slightly more on the front(Talbot St near Conolly St if anyone is interested )(and the door was open)

I think tis to advertise the glamour of gettin your hair done and also it gets pretty hot in their with all the hair dryers and hell if you're gona be walkin around a room full of mirrors all day you might as well look good.

Never did understand it myself, though never thought to complain.

Always have a look in the local one, I have gone in to get vouchers at christmas and its like walking into a lapdancing club, you don't know where to be looking. I have seen more respectably dressed whores in amsterdam than some of the hairdressers I have seen.

glamour is right, thats what porn stars call themselves, "glamour models"

I think it's a combination of the heat, plus peer pressure from other young girls wearing skimpy outfits. A hairdressers is like a beauty salon, in that it is all about making people look good, so it follows that the girls working there would want to look good also. I aint complaining though!

Its not only hairdressers, I went to buy some make-up the other day and the MAC girls looked like hookers. It's really inappropriate IMO. I'm going in to buy eyeshadow, not look at other girl's boobs and legs.

Seriously though, most young (and old I spose) women are out to impress and attract attention, be it from males OR females. Dressing like they do is simply each of them trying to outdo the others....the more flesh on show the better, is the attitude here it seems.
If they don't try and look good, dress well and show leg, they are in danger of arousing the "Will ya look at the state of her" crowd...women are such backbiting, jealous f*ckers when it comes right down to it...

On a similar topic, why do so many women that work in beauty departments have such bad make up? Orange faces, hair like straw and over plucked eyebrows. Please note that there are a few that look good but they are a minority.
