Need a quick help on website

    id like to have the left 1/4 or so of page a different backround colour to the rest but dont want to use frames, any ideas? is there some way of putting in a border or something? am using dreamweaver but amonly getting to grips with it as go along..

    Could you link to an example of the sort of thing you want?

    Also - try using tables.

    a fixed width column or expanding width column?

    do not use tables. tables should only be used for tabular data - not layout.

    heh.. I have a habit of using tables for layout - must work on improving my mad skillz to be honest. I'm getting slack these days.
