so i have winXP pro and i have a network card, usb controller, a riva TNT2 display adapter and an audigy 1 with firewire. i also have a pioneer dvd-117 dvd rom drive and a ricoh cd-r/rw mp7083a.... i seem to have a conflict somewhere or other. i get BSOD's lots, some saying IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or BAD_POOL_HEADER... i get a BSOd when my cd drives read at full speed e.g. when transferring files at around 95%... which is quite irritating... so can anyone help me with this!? advise would be hugely appreciated!...

btw, i have another problem, i cant boot off my 2nd ide controller (CD/DVD) which is annoying. the devices are seen in the bios setup and in windows, but not by dos. maybe that has some relation to the other problem... or maybe someone could help me with that too anyway!...

    thanks in advance,
    -J

nah, my uncle built it years ago... it seems to only have a problem with xp. he had been running 2000 for ages with no problems but when i threw xp on it, it started to mess up... i heard about a problem that audigy's have with conflicting with other devices if they are installed while the audigy is in the machine or something.... so, anyone else have any ideas!?

did u upgrade to XP? Also, to boot off a device, you set it to boot as the first device in the bios. CD-Rom's are not natively recognised in DOS.

no i installed cleanly, but seriously i do know about boot devices and priorities in the bios, but that isnt my problem... NOTHING will boot off the 2nd ide controller, not even a hard drive.. thanks anyway though... anyone else have any ideas????
