Irishman Kevin McBride is set to be confirmed as Mike Tyson’s latest comeback opponent later today.

Tyson has reportedly agreed a deal to face the Clones-born heavyweight at Washington’s MCI Center on June 11.

The former two-time world champion has not fought since being knocked out in the fourth round by Danny Williams in Louisville last July.

McBride had been lined up to face Tyson last year before Williams agreed to take less money for the fight.

The 6ft 6ins 31-year-old, who has campaigned mostly in the United States, boasts a 32-4-1 professional record, winning his last seven fights inside the distance.

But he has been found out in previous forays towards the top level, being stopped by both Axel Schulz and DaVarryl Williamson.

read that too, he was supposed to get a shot at him last year but they went for danny williams instead, cheaper option aparantly.
I would quiet fancy mcbride to pull of a shock as tyson should just retire now as he is past it.

Tyson is $38m in debt so he won't be retiring any time soon. :) He's 39 next month.

If Kevin lasts past the second round he'll have no problem knocking the old timer down.

I'd say Tyson picked his opponet carefully. This fight reminds me of when he fought Peter McNeely after he was released from prison. I know Tyson isn't the same fighter he was then but he's looking to show the world he's not finished yet. If he loses it'll be an upset

I get the feeling McBride was picked out because of what looks like a very good record yet Tyson and his assoaciates know he's a journeyman , it would be very risky of Tyson to pick someone that actually had a very good chance of beating him as one more loss and that will have to be it , no-one will want to manage a loser and no-one will want to fight a loser (unless the money is right and it won't be if Tyson loses again)
