    Hello from Risc.

We have a few things to tell you, so we're dividing it all up by band/artist this time, and then we'll talk about ourselves at the end.

    Betamax Format:

'XXX Robot'/'Raus! Raus!' (risc008), Betamax Format's debut single, is available now on heavy 70g vinyl in a 300g recycled cardstock sleeve for around a fiver from fine independent retailers in Dublin, Cork and Galway, and online from http://www.roadrecs.com and http://www.normanrecords.com.

Betamax Format will be playing a series of Irish gigs prior to playing at the Berlin Festival 2005, which takes place in Berlin (amazingly enough) on June 4th. The line-up for the festival also includes: Ian Brown, The Kills, Die Sterne, Ladytron, Jeans Team, The Undertones, Sons & Daughters, Whitey, Animal Collective, Liars, The Beat Up, Black Dice and Cosmic Casino.

    The Irish dates are:
Tower Records instore, this Friday 15th April at around 6pm.
The Sugar Club, Dublin, Thursday 21st April with Dry County and Channel-1.
They will also be playing in Galway at the end of May and Belfast at the beginning of June, but we'll tell you about that when we know the full details.

    Thread Pulls:

Thread Pulls have been confirmed to play at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in Camber Sands from April 22nd-24th. As far as we can figure out, they're the first Irish band to have played any ATP. They also have two new mp3s, 'Tennis' and 'Assemblage #2', available for download from http://www.threadpulls.com.

    Maersk/Inches:

Maersk are on hiatus at present, which is what happens when people go to college. In their place is a new band, Inches. Inches will be making their live debut within the next 110 days.

    Northstation/Agitated Radio Pilot::

Northstation will be playing live with Plata y Polmo (Finland) in Lazybird on Sunday 17th April, details at http://www.lazybird.org.

Northstation and Agitated Radio Pilot play with Chris Brokaw (ex-Codeine, Come) on Friday 29th April 2005 in the Boom Boom Room, Conways, Parnell Street, Dublin 1. Doors 8 pm, 10 Euro.

As always, keep an eye on http://www.slowloris.org for details of what fantastic new sounds will be seeing the light of day thanks to the efforts of Mr. Steve Fanagan (aka Northstation).

    E+S=B:

From the Deserted Villagers: 'Inhale the Sound', from Electronic Sensoria Band, is on sale now. It's in an edition of 40 with sublime Blue Note/Commodore 64 artwork and a free button badge.

    Medea:

Medea will be playing in Crawdaddy on Thursday 19th May with 79Cortinaz, Moth Complex and David Hopkins. They are also nearly finished recording their debut album, more on that soon.

    Herv:

There are upcoming Herv gigs. Check the Risc homepage tomorrow evening, by which time we'll have found the piece of paper they're written down on.

    Things to buy:

And finally, a quick mention; the Ladyfest Dublin 'Thank you' gig is on Thursday 28th of April in Bohs Bar, Phibsboro. It's free in. Go go go.

Thanks for reading. There is actually more news this time around than we could possibly give you in one go, hope we haven't left too much out. Risc badges are still available if you want one. Mail us back and ask nicely. The next release on Risc will be on vinyl and will be utterly amazing, but we'll tell you all about it next time instead.
