Hi, does anyone know any promoters i can get in contact with? I want to try and get DJ Starscream from Slipknot to do a DJ set in Dublin after the band play in June. I've contacted someone who does his bookings and he said it could happen if i get a promoter interested. Would anyone be able to help? Starscream does drum n bass btw
    thx!

Aww class. Umm your best bet would be to go into pubs like Eamonn Doranns and the like and ask in there

what kind of music does he play ? Scratch, hip hop, dance ? Cause that would have a heavy influnce on what clubs would want him to play, also what day of the week hes playing cause some clubs play different music different nights of the week, so that would have a part to play in it too.

As far as I know, it's mostly jungle, and Slipknot are playin Friday 10th June, I've posted about this on irishdrumandbass.com but they don't seem that interested, I think 'cos he's part of Slipknot and they won't give him a chance!

Try Bassbin records. I think its in Selecta records in Crown Alley, Temple Bar.

They used to do a Drum n Bass night in the Metropolitan, whether that carried over like the rest of the Metropolitans gigs to Traffic i don't know.
Best go into Selecta and ask one of the guys in there.

bassbin wouldnt really be into that whole east coast los angeles n2o sound to be honest... cant think of a pure drum and bass promoter who would be really interested in what starscream does but if you can find a venue [i suggest the music centre or perhaps the belvedere] and a few support dj's then it shouldnt cost you too much if you explain your situation to starscreams management, they tend to operate a sliding scale for fee according to venue capacity etc. you should be looking at about a grand for publicity, fees etc flyering, paying your support djs etc... might be a money making proposition since there a high profile slipknot gig on.... plus i'm sure he'd love to do a gig himself, i've never really been into the stuff he plays, not quite serious or heavy enough for me in all honesty but if you go ahead with it give me a shout and i'll happily play a warm up slot or whatever.

oh, try and give remedy a shout, anthony mooney is just as interested in the bottom line as the next man, he's quite happy to book cheese merchants like dj hype to play because he's a crowd pleaser and a money spinner, so if you talk the venture up properly then there shouldnt be a problem.

pm me here or at irishdrumandbass.com if you need any more help on this one, peace.
