How to GET a virus!!

OK weird question!!

Is there any place that i can get a virus. Like a database of viruses.

The reason i ask is that I want to get a certain virus and infect a vrtual machine with it and see a) what it does b) figure out how to remove it.

hmm... go on a very dodgy website and download from there.. or DL porn from a dodgy website or kazaaa will give u a virus but i have no idea were to actually DOWNLOAD one

There is a standard test anti-virus pattern at http://www.eicar.org .. most AV software should pick it up... it should be all you need for testing software or scanners.

If you are going to locate and infect a PC with an actual harmful virus then make sure it is disconnected from any other PC and from the Internet, even then its a risk in my opinion.

I remember back in the mid 90s (I sound so old saying that) there was a site on the *.box.sk network that had a database of Virii and their source code. There were also lots of toolkits for making you own virii and so on, if you were into that sort of thing. I think the site might have been virus.box.sk or something like that.

Check the rest of box.sk maybe?

Open Kazaa -> type keygen into the search -> download all the files that come up

You could save a lot of time if you started off downloading files by type and size - smallest applications first (.exe)

Keygen sites are more than 70% full of spyware or viruses. Just type keygen in google and it'll link you to sites full of them.
