    What political party do people on this site support? And one want to comment on politicians in Galway City?

    Personally I don't do party politics, very much an á la carte voter when it comes to election day.

    And I wish to make it clear that any bickering or arguing about politics will see this thread being locked and/or moved to a more appropriate forum.

    I wonder is this a recently elected Councillor trying to do a bit of "down with the kids" research?

    Socialist.

    Support Labour, for the time being. They give me what I want, although I do disaggree with them on plenty of occasions.

    The Progressive Democrats are the only sensible party to support. They are liberal on social issues and importantly will look after the economy, which is the only way to be able to pay for the services that good folks in the Labour party espouse.

    I was thinking more along the lines of personal morality. How about this new cafe-bar idea from McDowell? What other party comes up with such radical ideas? Let use not forget good old Bobby Molloy's taxi deregulation. I thank him everytime I hail a cab after a night on the beer!

    Why is it that this party was allowed to ghive itself a 2 word title where neither word describes it?

    better titles would have been;

    Blueshirts II
    IFP (Irish Fascist party)
    MRILP (monster raving illiberal looney party)

    To call a democratically elected party a shower of fascists is just silly. And in many cases these same people actually agree with the bile and true fascism spouted out by the like of Mr Adams, and the rest of the Sinn Finn/IRA crew. Fundamentialist socialism is just a passing fad of youth, and in most cases is fully expunged from the system by the time you reach 30.
