Im pondering about getting a DS. Ive been meaning to get an GBA Sp for awhile now but for disclosed reasons *ahem* Im broke *ahem* ends just havent met yet. So now I have a bit of cash to spend I was thinking about getting a DS. The DS looks savage and all but their doesnt seem to be much games out at the moment. If I were to get one now is there any games that are must haves? Or will I hold out until the likes of Mario Kart etc show up?

I got a DS, but at the moment I just play GBA games on it - I dont think anything at the moment is really worth getting - although, if you like Mario, you will love Mario 64 DS!

I played some of the others, and they are alright, but not worth forking out 40 quid for.

Meteos is meant to be great but you will have to import. if you haven't played Mario 64 then Mario 64 DS is a must have. Otherwise there really isn't that much. Warioware is great but just too short.

Bought a DS on launch day and must say been very disappointed by the lack of quality games for it. At the moment i just play GBA games on it.

I think Nintendo really f**ked up the selection of launch games. Nothing appart from SM64 stands out above a standard GBA or Java phone game. If you look at Gamespot no DS game has scored higher than 8.5, with most down around the 5 or 6 where as the PSP has a number of 9s and a lot of 8 or higher games.

I am waiting for some really good games to be released but at the moment there is nothing on the horizon I am really looking forward too. Thank god it plays GBA games or my DS would currently be a €150 paper weight

May and June are looking good for DS titles but probably all import stuff as god knows when all the good stuff will come out here...

Im waiting for Meteos in English, some of the extended features arn't usefull in the Jap one (unless u can read Japanease).

Polarium is an excellent puzzle game. Mario64 stands up on its own right. Wario Ware is short, but infinitely replayable - and fun for everyone.

Import-wise - I've imported Yoshi's Touch And Go (US Version) and Electroplankton (Jap Version) - there's plenty of other games worth importing - not too expensive either.
