This thread is only for people who work in television...

People who know why programmes are not re-commisioned and why they are never broadcasted again. People who realise that it takes an army of talented people to bring you a f**kin' television programme. People that know that it only takes four people to complain untill a programme is pulled. People who know that broadcating is a pain in the arse..........

Is that a question or a statement? What about the "people who know"? Is this a tribute to them? Please make sense.

Yes, you do realise that you started something there and seemingly wandered off without asking a question or doing anything to merit a response, right?

I work in television. The "Show" probably wasn;t re-commisioned because it was shít and no-one watched it.

So if I and three other people write a letter of complaint to RTÉ about Ryan Tubrudy, Pat Kenny, Winning Streak, etc etc, the shows will be pulled? Some hope.

of what I know about TV.

    America

The networks will pull anything once its not getting viewers. Viewers are the main thing in the states. Eg pulling My So Call Life and Freeks and Geeks.

They wined down shows because there on the air so long, actors and producers etc what to move on (e.g. Friends, Cheers etc).

Or the program is not popular anymore e.g. Dallas, Dawson's Creek.

    Britian

Generally only mini series get the axes or comedies. Other shows like Eastenders, Coro St, Casulty and other go on for ever.

    Ireland

    Emmmm

Well there is Glenroe, that had "run its course"
The Roirdan's which spun into the mini series Braken that spun into Glenroe.
Or they where really really bad like The Big Bow Wow.

...people who reach over and put their hand into a pile of goo that was their best friend's face! You want the truth? You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!

...oh Chrisht, not another RTE/OPW Civil Servantoid.

What's the matter? Did Montrose reject your 'Monkey Tennis' pitch?

It takes just four people, eh? *rubs hands together* Eeeeeteresting.
