Planning on flying to New York in May, returning in July.
Both Aer Lingus and Continental are the same price. €511.

Anyone have any advice on which one to go with? I would probably swing for Aer Lingus I'd say.

Also, to fly with Air France via Paris, It's only €460. It's added hassle though and longer flight times.

There isn't that much to choose from between Aer Lingus and Continental - you can check out some opinions on both at http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/seats.htm

Aer Lingus will fly you into JFK airport, while Continental operate into Newark. Depending on where you are going in NY, do some research on the web to find out which is best for you.

As for Air France. Yeah it's cheaper and they are reasonably ok - but Charles De Gaulle aiport in Paris can be a bit of a nightmare.

Plus with the stopover in Paris, im sure the 51 euro you save on air fare will be used up on buying a cup of coffee and a sandwich while waiting for your onward flight.

I've flown with both. Go with Continental. They look after you better during the flight and Newark is a nicer airport!

I flew Shannon to Newark with Continental in February.

Free soft drinks, free headsets for TV, excellent service, great recline/legroom.

Newark was a pleasure to fly into, got the monorail to the train station and then the train into NYC (around 12 dollars I think).

Wait I just read all the flight rules and stuff. Continental Tickets are non-refundable, non-changeable, and non-transferable.

Since I my return journey isn't definite I'll probably go with Aer Lingus.

Continental is much better than Aer Lingus , Will AL change your plans at no extra cost? I dont think so.
