battle of the bands

    i was at the 98fm battle of the bands final and the dude Gerry Browne gets up at the start of it and says "a few ppl have come up to me and said this thing is fixed cos i help out one of the bands but i assure you all its not a fix and im not involved with this band in anyway"

    but guess who wins (some seriously valuable prizes from a band point of view) the thing The Slick Hippies which is the band who he said he wasnt involved with (even though they are listed as one of his bands on his website).

    now fair enough battle of the bands are bollix most of the time but jesus i never thought they were this bad. the winning band we're really bad and it's not sour grapes that my mates band didnt win (altough i think they shuda) there were other bands there that were better than em. it was funny though cos when they announced the winners the place erupted in boo's and everyone started chanting for the band that everyone felt shoulda won.

    anyway waffle offer guess im just trying to say that just cos 98fm (or some other reputable media thingy) have their name attached to it doesnt make it legit, fair

    anyways, thats outta my system nowwink.gif

    thing that wrecked my head the most about it was that he actually had the gall to say at the start that it wasnt a fix

    then again anyone who feels compelled to stand up and say that at a start of the battle of the bands final must have a guilty consience or a freudian (spelling) slip if you will

    i was at the battle of the bands as well.....and it was in my opinion not fixed..... the slick hippies just had more people to vote for them ......they brought nearly their entire ballyer college with them.....

    and it has nothing to do with the fact that Gerry Browne is their manager and that one of the sponsors of the event pulled his prize (or half pulled it so as he didnt open himself to legal proceedings)

    since my original post ive found out that there was war going on among the judges and 98FM over Gerry Browne and his antics ah sure anyway whats done is done and the very best of luck to the Slick Hippies (they'll need it IMO)

    i was at a battle recently where this band won just because they had won the one the year before. they had been good that year but were useless this year and still won
