Yeh, this thread has been up before. If you've got a problem with that, don't post!

Last 5 years (doesn't have to be 1 per year).

    Ranked: 1 being worst

    1. Alexander
    2. Oceans 12
    3. Jeepers Creepers
    4. XXX
    5. Matrix Revolutions

Edit: Changed Kill Bill 1 to Matrix Revolutions. How could I forget such an atrocious film.

I don't know if it was released in the last 5 years but showgirls was absolute tripe. It made watching naked women boring which is a sin in my book.

These are just movies I walked out on in the cimema so I guess I would call them the worst.

    1. The Day after Tomorrow
    2. Meet the Fochers
    3. Alexander
    4. Bring it On
    5. Shark Tale

Im sure Ive seen worse in the last 5 years but these are ones where i actually left the theatre after paying my money to see it.

Shark Tale is a strange one. They spend millions on the animation but the script is poor.

I like the scene where dozens of chimps invade the girls changing room and start eating their lipstick and stuff...

it didn't make much sence... but... those were some funny chimps....

    4. Spice Girls Movie
    5. Planet of the Apes (stupid ending, director doesn't even understand it)

If its 5 years then Blair Witch and Wild Wild West just miss out (both 1999).

About Schmidt is up there. A one joke film.
Kill Bill - juvenile, complete hype.
feardotcom - The Ring with www instead of VCR
Battlefield Earth. So crap its nearly in the "so-bad-its-good" category.
And in the words of the song: "...and all I'm trying to say is Pearl Harbor sucked"

Also the end of the third part of Lord of the Rings was just a bit too drawn out.

A lot of people are saying Matrix Revolutions.

Personally, I thought Matrix Reloaded was the utterly terrible one. Revolutions was a far better film, but still a bit rubbish on the grander scale of things.

A.I. should be no. 1. It was the most boring and dull hour and a half in my life. Spielberg should be shot just for that film.

Ah come on, it was a terrible story with scary looking AI people (especially that guy 'Joe').

And especially at the end with those freaky looking tall guys. There was no good point to that movie.

    Hitch.

Just took a girl to see it the other night and while she was mildy amused I was cringing the whole way through. Whoever wrote the script must have decended recently enough from some sort of stone. It was that interesting and intelligent.

    Pure honest-to-god tripe.

There was a point if you realised the freaky looking tall guys aren't aliens and realise what they realy are. It's not the best film but is far better than the haters say it is.

    the matrix
    the matrix 2
    the matrix 3
the last samurai (fell asleep watching it)
anaconda 2 (also fell asleep watching it)

The point/moral/message went right over my head but I dont think that if I fully understood it, I would enjoy it any more.

I thought I was the only one :(

In any case Blair witch wouldn't have counted because that was a "documentary using some real footage" remember? What a load of crap.

    1. The Day after Tomorrow

God, it wasn't great but I wouldn't have left the cinema!

    AI
    Bridget Jones
    A Beautiful Mind
    The Matrix
    I, Robot

They should be no where near anyones top 5! Most of the tripe I've seen this year are worse than them! (By saying worse I'm not saying that those films are bad. I really liked all of these)

    The day after tomorrow

I left because it was turning into predictable cheese.

I could see what was going to happen a mile off. And to be honest I didnt care if all the characters died or not at that stage. :D

What film isn't predictable these days, and in fairness, these types of disasters movies are always predictable so you go in knowing you're gonna know the end before the end :)

    Worst 5:

    1. AI (2 Directors and it totally made a mess of what could have been a good movie)
    2. Ring 2 (I've had scarier turds)
    3. Ginger Snaps (What was the point)
    4. 3 Blind Mice (I want my money back)
    5. Star Wars II - Attack of the Clones (More like attack of the zzzzzzzz.....)

Half of the audience cheering and the other half booing the Man United references made it worth it for me. :D

Have to completely agree with you on this one, couldnt understand why people didnt appreciate this film, You've got the silent, deliberate cinematography of Kubrick (yes I know he was dead at this point) aswell as the sheer imagination of Spielberg. I accept its basically pinocchio for the 21st century but the film makes no illusions that it isnt, but compare the scene where the boy sees multiples of himself to the scene in toy story 2 where buzz lightyear does too, existensialism sold as a kids movie, fu**in brilliant. Anyway the worst five movies of the last five years to me were:
    Catwoman..beyond Dross
Meet the fockers...Same bloody movie again ..without the jokes
Brigit jones 2...same reason as above
Matrix 2/3 ...Why for gods sake!
Envy.. jack black how drunk were you when u signed up for this.

    Best movies
    Old Boy
Dead friend (Korean, its on bit torrent)
Million dollar baby ..devisive I know
    Lemony Snickey..visuals are fantastic

    I really enjoyed that film!!

    My top 5 would be:

    Matrix revolutions
    In the bedroom
Bring it on 2 [yes there is one & it makes the first one watchable]
Too fast too furious [the imagination in the name says it all]
Star wars episode 1 [execpt for the darth maul fight scene]

I haven't seen Alexander & based on the amount of times it's been mentioned here, I never will :D

Sadly, i too have seen crossroads. ****E. Haven't neven watched Signs but after hearing the story it sounds like a good contender for worst movie. Bruce Almighty and Bad Boys 2 are awful as well. And if it wasn't for the fact that it's too old i'd have schindlers list in there too. People are just afraid to say they don't like it. Not an awful movie but very over-rated.

I wasn't saying that A Beautiful Mind was bad. I was saying that I thought it was good along with the other films I listed in that post. To quote myself...

TBH, these are definitely some of the top filoms I've seen in the last 5 years. And I've seen ALOT......

At the same time I thought that Bruce Almighty and Bad Boys 2 (which I really was expecting to be utter crap) were great films.

The Last Sumarai was a complete load of bollo* I have to agree....

    1. The Travolta, multi-million Dollar inspired Battlefield Earth was one of the worst.

    2. Gigli, the Ben Affleck/Jennifer Lopez ego trip.

    3. Crossroads, already mentioned.

    4. Glitter, as above but with Mariah Carey, was so awful it ruined her career.

    5. Freddy Got Fingered, awful movie but bloody hilarious.

This is a weird film to rate. On the 1 hand it's bloody awful but then there are parts in it where it's just so awful and stupid it's hilarious.
