Iv always reckoned it would be an onmline game but im not sure that I belive Spong (as I recall their info isn't always the best). If it is tru I wonder if Fully online means that there will only be basic training for single player?

It has come to our attention that the DS will see a fully online first-person shooter in the shape of Metroid Prime: Hunters, the latest Samus-led update currently in the works at NST.

And far from paying lip service to online technology, Hunters will be a fully-optimised real-time FPS, the likes of which seemed beyond the wildest imaginings of Nintendo fans when the acclaimed GameCube updates launched.

One senior US retail source told SPOnG over the weekend, “The game will be fully online and we were as surprised as anyone. Nintendo told us that we should 'think along the lines of Halo 2, deathmatches, online leagues and so on'. It is going to be shown running online at E3 and will hit [in the US] in mid-summer.”

So there you have it. Good news indeed. What’s more, the boredom factor of training in First Hunt now has an offsetting purpose. And don’t forget, there’s also a whole single-player Metroid game to be enjoyed too. Happy days!

A new tunneling attempt is in the works as well:

The guy claims to be going beta with it on the 11th of April.

I've heard this a bit, but no one can ever give examples of how, where, or when they have ever f-ed up big time.

For example, one unbelievable thing I first read on their site was that MS’s second console would be released at the end of this year… just days later apparently more reputable sites were repeating the claim with their own sources.

I think their tabloid-like coverage probably does them more damage then any stories that they might have got wrong, or that can never be proven right or wrong.
