    Hi,

Im considering buying an imported pajero and am just wondering has anyone owned one or has one, and the pro's & con's. Its a 94 with 41K on it. Is this milage very low for a 94? Bodywork and interior are perfect. Anything specific I should look out for. Im buying from a garage. It will cost me 11K. Is this expensive for a 94? Also, how are they on diesel?

For a japanese car, that seems to be a normal amount of mileage. Worth mentioning is that the headunit wont work properly here as they use a different fm band in japan.

theres nothing wrong with them, old man has a 92,which he uses to carry tools and other s..t,iv had a lend of it afew times to pull trailers, and i say its as good as any jeep out there 2.8 is a pig on diesel,2.5 uses a small drop of oil, theres plenty in the country for parts, just look up the buy and sell ;)

Personally Id go for a 2.8 as the 2.8 is better on diesel than the 2.5.
Even a brand new Irish one is crap on diesel which is why Mitsubishi introduced the 3.2 this year over here-much better on juice.
One comparison on parts for you---Windscreen main dealer only job.Irish Model 300-400.Jap import can be anywhere from 600-800.A rear screen for a pajero junior is 1000 euros. And a rear side window for one is 650.And some insurance companies wont cover this amount even if you have glass cover.

Despite what people think the models may look identical but the build parts are totally different.
Second hand parts are easy to come by but again mainly for Irish models. There are a couple of specialist jap parts places around but even they cant source everything.
Most jap stuff is main dealer only even down to things you`d expect a factors to keep ie wheel bearings and the likes.
As for cosmetic stuff, forget about it.If you`re buying a Jap model make sure theres nothing like body kits, accessory fog lamps, spoilers, skirts etc. This stuff is not available even from a main dealer or on special order form Japan. This goes for the car models aswell.Colts, lancers etc with sports kits are a pig to get parts for.I cant even get odd ball parts for the FTO even though there are hundreds in Ireland.
