Can someone recommend a good blank dvd-r, with all the differant dyes and that plus new ones on the market I prefer if someone could recommend a disk that they have used with good results. I'll probably be buying from www.svp.co.uk as I'll be buying a good few.

I have bought the Datawrite Yellow (DVD-R in Tub of 25) from these guys. No problems at all, so far. Went through at least 30 of them so far.

Posting is a fiver, and I usually got them 2 or 3 days later. They accept most forms of payment. They're located in Cork.
We have replaced the highly sucessful Datawrite Yellow Verion 1 with the New Version 2 which is a very compatible Ritek A Grade disc using the excellent G04 dye.

Yeah, Mediawrite are good with quick delivery. SVP better for large orders. I use Bulkpaq Orange 4x discs which seem to be grand on my NEC 2500. I've burned some at 8x too with no problems.

Maybe you should try a look at this site:
    http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia

The most popular according that site is Ritek G04 discs. So keep an eye out for discs with the G04 dye.

http://www.dvd99.info/ is very reliable, have a look for these:

    Ritek/Philips G04 DVD-R 4x printable - 50 Stk.(Minus-R)

BTW if you need any covers let me know I got a few hundred sitting here!

I've had good results with the Datawrite grey tops. Bought them after getting a recommendation (overclockers.co.uk forums) that they'd work well with my burner (NEC-3520) which I bought at the same time. Rated 2x to 8x. No complaints, no errors whatever and work perfectly on my philips dvd player as well. They're generally under a euro more expensive per 25 than the yellow tops. IIRC the yellow tops use a Mitsubishi dye while the greys use a Fuji dye. Not that this difference makes a great deal of difference to me, I just got them because they were recommended for my hardware. Thumbs up from me &c.
