School Of Rock!!!

Yeah I seen the article in the Times Mag and it was cool. As good as Blast is in my town we have something better. We have our own School Of Rock!!! Cheesy name but I assure you that its nothing like the movie. We have a number of professional guitarists and drummers teaching the kids of the community how to play for free. we have free use of the town theatre for practice every Saturday during school term and weekdays during summer. We set up bands have acoustic singer/song-writer sessions numerous gigs with Battles. The bigger more established bands hold their own gigs sometimes but no matter what gig it is the ticket price is only €5 with a subsidery for the theatre. At halloween we even had a dress up Battle Of The Bands which was fab. The best bit is we're all between the ages of 13 and 21 so we're all really close and good friends. At least two of the bands have cd's out for sale in town and a best friend of mine has his own cd which got him a grant/scholarship into Ballyfermot Music College. For each and every one of us the music's not just a hobby its our way of life! Thanx to the local govermant for settin it up!

yeah its the best craic ever....the bands are pretty good, thinking of getting taught guitar this year..
