    Aye...

but the ERC is at a slower pace than test rugby so players like horan and murphy are able to shine but cannot at the higher level. International defences haven't let Murphy play like he did yesterday and i believe horan would have never been allowed break like that either.

Christ, Foley looked quick today.... ;)

I don't agree that Eddie O'Sullivan is necessarily the problem. I am not sure you can do anything more than pick the team. Remember most of Ireland was made up of Munster and Leinster and still flopped. I take my hat off to Munster today for their tremendous effort in the second half.
If the Irish team had the same source of pride in their jersey, who knows how the season might have worked out.

As Ciaran Fitzgerald memorably put it "Where's their f***in' pride ?"

the one thing that struck me was to look at how quick stringer was getting the ball out of rucks - i mean while the irish team arent too quick to get into positions following a ruck, theres still no reason for stringers age long ****abouts in a ruck. so surely that shows some of the severe low points of eddies orders? i just think he doesnt allow the players the freedom that some of them need tbh.

Slow ruck balls was probably my major gripe of the 6 nation season along with Stringer taking the ball on his own into 3 forwards nearly every 20 mins.

your dead right we need to focus on the celtic league and make it as strong as Zurich Premiership and leinster especially needs to bring in foreign players to improve the quality of the squads. I know people say we need to bring up home grown talent but if we have good players on the team it will add to more competion for places

as regards to stringer, i know he just cant bring the ball into contact but at least he is a good scrum half who usually can deliver quick ball, compared to his understudy in leinster he is a saint. Guy Easterby is not a good scrum half and he was found wanting in the lecister game, slow ball and he even wasnt in position once to catch a lineout ball that came back on our side. i wouldnt even see my brothers under 16 do that.

    absolutly agree,
everyone knows that we also need a stronger, more competive domestic league, like Wales... i just don't know how this can be done though?

jez i don't know... i watched a bit of the school rugby on setanta there a month or 2 ago and i wondered when some these guys would be breaking into the Leinster team...it's going to be hard if there's an expensive import playing in their position. The only way they're going to improve is by playing quality matches - chicken and the egg!

I want to see Felipe playing for Carlow again!

Yeah dave, can't wait to see what Boss will do up in the northern hemisphere.
We really need a good scrum-half who keeps the backrow guessing.
Stringer has tried to develop this side of his game (sniping runs, box kicks, etc ...) but failed miserably in my opinion. any player who can try and make breaks down the side of the scrum and lose the ball everytime shouldn't be our number 1 scrum-half.

He has served us well in the past but He really isn't progressing as a player now.

Ah perfect:D. i want them to look to the AIL as well. The Celtic League gets the dregs of the povincal side when there is european matchs on so i want to see more AIL players drafted for the squad like the old days. They'll kill for a place in the first team.
