Was just wonderin if any1 had read the sentinal's article bout the galway docks 100m redevelopment including a total relocation and dismantleing of the shell tanks? could this mean new high rise developments like that of the dublin, cork and limerick docklands being built to max the potential of the new development space?

No, I don't think so, and I think that was made perfectly clear in the article. The Harbour Commissioners have control of the Docks, they already have planning permission for the new Marina and the tanks are already on the move to the harbour enterprise park.

As for high rise, it'd be safe to say that there'll never be anything higher than the likes of the Harbour Hotel.

You won't get higher then perhaps 6stories in Galway, some of the buildings in around the docks go up that high. As for the new harbour it would be interesting to see where all the traffic would go, the renmore residents will hardly be happy if it goes up through there.
