Firefox is a security threat! Its recognised as a high security threat by well known anti-spyware software! Delete it ASAP before you get hacked through its vulnerabilities.

The key thing there "to a lack of security updates". Keep it updated, and it's fine. When compared to IE, you don't even need to bother updating it to have a much safer time online.

    [EDIT]
Hmm, notice what spyware program it is? Maybe I'm too cynical, but isn't it a *little* suspicious?

er....i think you will find the problem is windows and not firefox....
I'm running firefox on solaris and have no problems
What's this Spyware / Virus stuff you talk about?? :)

Heh. I read Mutant_Fruit's post, then I saw the top of the picture with "Microsoft" on it and thought the exact same thing so I don't think you're being cynical

It *is* also a beta. Given that MS's release software is frequently bugged to hell, I shudder to imagine what their betas are like.

Would you be Cabaal from #emporium on the IRC server for underground.org.uk by any chance? Can't be that many Cabaal's from Kilkenny can there?

I thought it was hacked a while ago. Found nothing on my PC. Even when other freeware apps can. So why bother installing it?

That’s a fair point, but to answer you question, its worth instating it because it has found some spyware that Adaware or spybot didn’t on a lot of machines that I’ve seen, Reason number 2 is it has real time protection and AFAIK it is the only anti spyware software to have this Real time protection.

However it is still only in Beta and I don’t know if it will be free when a full release comes.

After some further research it seems other people have found that aswell. Hasn't been my experience. Maybe its worth a second look so. BTW Spybot also has some real time protection.

In my experience, that only seems to effect registry values though, where the MS AntiSpyware is a lot more comprehensive, scanning for homepage changes, registry value changes, program changes, etc. as well, and often checking them against the internet database before bothering you as to whether you want to allow them or not.
