So, what I want is Tex Avery's wolf playing THAT double bass. (Without the horrible skull on top though) Anybody a) wanna have a go at drawing it? Or b) recommend a tattooist whose good at drawing in that style who can design it for me?

Try putting it on the art forum or submitting it on various art sites. A tattoo designer is just an artist really.

I'll try it on the art forum as well, thanks.

I'd suggest that you go to a tattoo studio with it, artists normally wont take on specialist stuff that they are not good at or dont enjoy.
Even if someone was able to draw it up for you then it is not simply a case of getting an artist to copy it, they modify slightly and style stuff the way they do it or for what looks better.
Get them to sketch up a quick sketch of it and if you dont like their work at the sketch stage then go elsewhere, although normally any studio is honest with what their artists are good at as they dont want a rep as people who permanently disfigure people, makes sense if you think about it.

Try Deviantart.com. Check their Tattoo Designs, Ive got a registered account if you need to search, most of the artisits there are bang on and wont say no to someone emailing them and asking for a drawing or two

there are lots of threads here recommending different studios and artists, have a look back over it.
Celestial Ring(s), Snakebite, Zulu, Sacred Art, Aaron in Wild Eagle, lots of different options in Dublin, assuming that is where you are.

I'm based in Galway and I've designed tattoo's for some local people. I'd be glad to design tattoos for anyone who's interested. (I do charge though....but not much :) ) Check out my website . Nothing on there about tattoos but hopefully you'll be convinced of my skills as an artist.
