    Nope, it was "Firestarter", actually.

F1 theme tunes over the years have been:

    RTE coverage

1995 - unknown (specially commissioned piece, as far as I know).
1996 - "Satellite" by The Hooters.
    1997 - 2004 - "Firestarter" by The Prodigy.

    ITV coverage

    1997 - 1998 - Specially commissioned piece by Jamiroquai.
    1999 - 2002 - "Blackbeat" by Apollo 440.
2003 - present - A specially commissioned version of "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" by Bachman Turner Overdrive.

None of these, however, can ever or will ever top the original and best F1 theme tune of all time........

    BBC coverage

1978 - 1996 - The bass guitar leading into the drums and electric guitar bit from "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac. The tune that has become synonymous with motorsport. All together now........... Dum! Dum de dum, dum de dum de dum........ DUM! :D

And yes, I know, I am a massive anorak for knowing all this stuff. An anorak....... and proud! :D

When the coverage on RTE was sponsored by Toyota, "Voodoo People" was used during the Toyota ads shown during the races (during the first, and possibly second, year of the sponsorship deal anyway, as I recall). That's probably where you're getting it from. ;)

Also, I just realised there's a mistake in the list above of the theme tunes used over the years. I left one out.

    RTE coverage

    1997 - 2000 - "Firestarter" by The Prodigy

2000 - 2004 - "Right Here, Right Now" by Fatboy Slim

I knew there was something wrong with that list somewhere. :D
