    Hi all,

I'm going through a bit of a career crisis at the moment and am hoping you can help.

I'm 24, almost 25 and working in an IT related field. I'm not happy here and wish to do something completely different. The only passion I have that I could consider a career in would be something property related - possibly architecture, planning, design, CAD related stuff etc (but not sales related). The problem is that I'm not too keen on spending another 4/5 years at UNI when I already have a B.SC. I'd consider 2 years, possibly 3 at the max.

What sort of career opportunities would be available to me? Something along the lines of architecture, but nothing 100% based on design. I have a creative side (love interior design) but prefer to have some 'boundries', if you know what I mean.

Any suggestions about where to go from here would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

Property development (buying an old shabby house, redoing it and selling it for a nice profit)?

    Am already doing that! :D

Has anyone here done the B.Sc in Interior Architecture in CIT?

I found myself in the very same situation as you about 9 months ago. Please pm me and I can give you my life story ;)

I now work in an architectural consultancy.

It takes 7 years to become an architect in Ireland - rightly so as there are a lot of cow boys are out there pretending to be architects. Outside Ireland, you could probably shorten it. There are some interesting 1/2 year masters courses in stuff like urban/city planning that might be worth a look as planners seem to be in demand at the moment.
