    Hey all

Didn't quite know where to post this but this might be the one

Who commutes to Dublin (city center) from Blessington ?

How long does it take ? Do you drive / luas / bus ?

Any help would be great as thinking of moving out there ...

    Cheers

Depend on the time of day.

On a sunday night, 45-50 mins by bus.

On a monday morning (say the 8.15), or Friday evening (4-5 outbound) it would take about 2 hours, maybe more if the traffic is heavy.

If you got the 6.55 on a monday morning, you'd be in for just after 8.

In general, it's always slow going one way, and fast the other, any time of the day.

Wouldn't waste time getting the luas, would cost more aswell.

Whereabouts in city centre? If you can park and can work flexible hours and have access to parking, its best to have the car. As for getting the bus, early bus is fine as morning traffic is spread over couple of hours....evening traffic tends to all leave town about 5 - 5.30 so it will be busy in the evenings. Buses can be a nightmare.

What part of blessington are you moving to? I hope it works out for you if you do!!!

The N81 inbound and outbound get ridiculously busy at peak times. Traffic slows to about 35mph for the entire road between Tallaght and Blessington, almost doubling your travel time to 30-45 minutes between the two towns.

As for getting into the city centre, well that never changes. It's busy, always.

IMO you're looking at between 1.5 - 2 hours, every day. I'd advise getting a motorcycle, or making arrangements for driving to Dundrum and taking the LUAS from there (LUAS from Tallaght will take almost as long as driving in).
