I'm was trying trying to load an accounts package onto my computer yesterday but for some reason the disk will load the start up page and I click install and the message comes up "Loading please wait" and that it, I wait and wait and wait and the disk loads no more. At first I though it was a dodgy disk but today I tried it on another computer and it loaded perfectly!

I've try'ed loading another other disks and they load no problem so I'm assuming its not the reader in the tower, but I don't know what it could be.

I'm not a techno but I'm wondering could it be something to do with the firewall, or is there such a thing a security stop on a disk being loaded onto another computer.

Today I got another accounts disk same package and I've still got the same problem, start up page no problem click install and then just stare at the screen.

    Any help appreciated.

If you are on windows XP or 2000/2003 make sure you have admin priveleges

It means your logged into XP using the administrator account.

If you are logged into an administrator account, you have greater control as to what you can do on the PC.

SO, take for example, a PC in a college. If a student was able to install software, it could pose a threat for a virus. In order to stop this, the student logs in as a bog standard user and is limited as to what can be done in windows like changing settings etc.

don't know if this will cure your problem but at least you can eliminate it out of the equation!!
I had a similar prob a while back and found that the PC i was working on, that version of microsoft installer agent was out of date and wouldn't allow installs to continue. It's called instmsia.exe you can d/l from microsoft.com
handy little checker can be got here
    http://www.batchconverter.com/CheckMSI-download-13989.shtml

The problem usually throws up a warning dialog tho!! so this may not be your prob
    good luck anyway
