John Cena will win, and Triple H BETTER beat Batista. I hope Orton beats Taker, and Angle beats Michaels, but I can't see it happening. Couldn't care about the other matches.

Hang on! You want Triple H to beat Batista? Wow, you're in the minority, but I respect your opinion. Is it that you don't believe Batista is a credible face? Is he not over yet?

    What is it? :D

I think he's a very good actor, but I'm not a fan of his wrestling skills. I'm not saying he's bad or anything, but I think he's a bit too colloquial and maybe even a bit too predictable.

I also think he's best when he is a heel. Hopefully if he wins the title he will go back to that ASAP.

I agree with both of these but WWE are giving Cena a big push after WM so it looks like he will unfortunately win the title.

Is the Paul London/Chavo match off the card now Chavo is injured?

The Chavo Guerrero/Paul London match won't be on the card due to Chavo's injury, but the good news is that Carlito will be back in action soon! CARLITO!

    Now that's cool...

Well he is the real Mr. Wrestlemania. If HBK loses to Hassan on Monday I think it's a dead cert that Hogan will end Hassan's winning streak at WM21.

Austins back??? Savage!!! Me and some mates are getting 'mania - we've all taken the next day off from work / college etc. just to be sure.
I'm curious about the big slow / akebono match. I know it'll be pants, but it'll be unusual pants!!!!
I just can't wait to see Shawn Michaels get waffled by an angle slam.

Oh yeah, that'll come after the angle slam. I reckon Michaels will kick out of the 'slam and then get up and go for sweet chin music but angle will catch his scrawny auld leg and put him in the ankle lock. I'd love to see something reminiscent of the angle / shane'o'mac match with angle slams off tables up on the turnbuckles and all that.

Just for the record, how many people here are watching 'mania alone and how many are getting a bunch of mates together? Its such a pity that no bars are allowed to open late enough to show it. I remember when I was in the states last summer on J1, two of my local bars showed raw and smackdown and the ppvs every time they were on. This lousy fukkin' country though - not a chance.

Yeah wouldn't it be great to watch it in the pub? There would be a brilliant atmosphere. Anyway I'm watching it with 2 mates.

My predictions anyway. I hope Angle goes over Michaels but I know Shawn will get his way.

I can't decide whether I'll buy the PPV or not. Lineup looking stale agian this year and since I haven't watcxhed any WWE in a few months I dont have an idea why these matches have been set up so I'm 50/50 as to whether to buy or not.

Having not watched WWE in a couple of months would make you think the matches are stale but it is a good lineup imo.

Cannot wait to see the biggest legend of them all back in pipers pit, knowing Austin he's gonna pull of some crazy sh1t and just tear the roof of the Staples Centre. I'm loving those Austin flashbacks on RAW, so nostalgic, although it reminds me that the WWE will never again reach the heights it did with Austin in his heyday imo.

There's rumours of Kane and Jericho getting a big push to main-event title challenging status after Mania so one of these guys might steal the win, althought the're only rumours so what do i know.
It does seem fairly unlikely anyway considering the WWE will never give Jericho the title push he derserves even tho he's one of few consistantly entertaining and talented guys on the roster. As for Kane, we already know. :D

    Why and hows.....

    >Triple H lost last year, he won't job twice in a row, never mind a Championship match to a guy who has been a face for 5 months (yes it is that short). I read someone suggest SummerSlam as being Batista's moment, and I would definately agree with that.
    >If Batista is not going to win, Cena will (one of them will have to)
    >Undertaker will not lose his win streak(they have to let him reach 13-0 before he retires: jesus they themed Wrestlemania 13 after him)
    >Angle will win against HBK (Angle lost last year, Shawn won his last two WM matches; Shawn has had plenty of Accolades, Kurt deserves one, even if it's only to be better than the ShowStoppa)
    >Edge had most development on his Character leading up to it, the rest are in there to make him winning it look good.
    >Trish will win, because no-one should lose to a Playboy Cover girl who's theme music is called 'Walk, Idiot, Walk'! (no matter how pretty she is faking an orgasm:))
    >Big Show will win, because there is no gain in having him lose against Akebono
    >Rey will win, because Eddie will cheat, and get caught, and will get the Heel turn he so honestly needs.

    Just my humble opinions........

hhh vs batista = can only be a hhh win with a screw job either orton rejoins or a new evolution member

jbl vs cena = as much as it pains me to say jbl especially seens it looks like their setting up for michaels to take it off him at summerslam

show vs akebono = show to win by cheating and to give him the heel status he needs to move to raw

trish vs christy = trish overcoming both christy & lita to possibly rebecome a babyface

rey vs eddie = eddie by cheating thus opening up a tournament for the smackdown tag titles

ladder match = as much as i want to see y2j win i can only see edge win this one seens as all the others are given air time on rivalries and ic challenges and edge is all ways talking about the world title

angle vs hbk = hbk via dodgy submission [ala canada screw job to set him up as a top heel on smackdown] as good as angle is he doesn't have enough stroke to beat hbk at wrestlemania

stone colds pit = piper to clock austin celebrate and austin gets up and opens up the bigest can of whoopa** ever seen all over pipers sorry a**

orton vs taker = after smackdown this week all i can see is taker beating both ortons

Batista to lose still though :)

How so? Because Batista said he was the biggest legend ever?

I'd love to see HHH leave with the belt but with Evolution completely disbanded and Hunter on is own. Quite probable I think!

^^ The only reason I cant see that happening is because it would leave Flair out on his own, and at this stage of his career, I think he needs to be aligned with someone to get him to work best.

I agree, no way flair would work on his own now. If he did leave HHH, it would probably be to manage somone else.

I also think the same thing was said when HHH faced Randy Orton.

From reading all the posts on this thread only 2 or 3 people fancied HBK to turn over Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania 21, why is that?
HBK has a wrestlemania legacy, I think last year the triple threat with HHH and Benoit he was brilliant and the year before against Jericho was another brilliant match, I think this year him and Angle will be some match.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

HBK has a wrestlemania legacy, I think this year him and Angle will be some match.

No, he doesnt, in fact he is the joint holder of WMs biggest loser.

    Shawn Michaels Wrestlemania record

First 3 WMania's of HBK he was in the rockers.

WM5- Lost tag match against the Twin Towers
WM6- Lost tag match against The Orient Express
WM7- Won Tag match against Haku & The Barbarian

WM8- Won match against Tito Santana
    WM9-Lost against Tatanka
    WM10- Lost against Razor Ramon
    WM11- Lost against Diesel
    WM12- Won against Bret Hart

WM14 - Lost against Stone Cold

    WM19- Won against Jericho

WM20- Lost a triple threat match which Benoit won.

So Michaels has lost 7 Matches at WrestleMania. He has won 4 matches at WMania.

So Michaels is 4-7. Only tito Santana has as poor a record, so If Shawn loses again this year, he will be Wrestlemanias biggest loser in history. I was amazed when I saw that stat, but its true, its damn true (cheap pop! ;) ).
