Does anyone know how to get involved in this, if it's good for someone who hasn't played all that much? Thought I had a partner for this summer, but after two goes he said it was making him lopsided  . Irritating because I felt I was really improving (ths is the real reason maybe :) )

Generically I find the best way to get involved in tennis is to join an active club and throw yourself into their club nights / social gatherings. Its hard to improve your game by playing the same person/people all the time.

Have either of you found out anything more about whether the club is still there? I used to be a member, but the place has been deserted any time I've gone by over the last couple of years, so I'm curious as to whether or not it still actually exists.

I have seen an add for the club on the current poster from the Leinster branch of Tennis Ireland. The current annual cost is 95 Euro for the year (their year used to run from 1 April to 31 March, not sure if that is still the case), and two phone numbers were given, or a request to pick up an application form on Sunday afternoons. Not sure how effective their advertisement on that poster will be, given that I have only ever seen them put up in tennis clubs, so anyone reading it would already be a member of a club, but at least it shows that there is an attempt to keep the club going.
