Why won't insurance companies quote a first-time driver on an automatic transmission car? What's the maximum car specifications that a first-time driver can get insured on??

    Cheers.

It depends on a bunch of things, such as your age, gender, power/weight of car, etc.
i.e. young and male? Bend over and lube up.

Hibernian still won't quote me (on a car) unless I do their ignition course, even though I have a full car licence and have held hibernian motorcycle policies for about 5 years (also on a full A1 licence), the bastards.

Whereas I'm paying Quinn about €1300 for TPF&T on a 1.25 fiesta zetec.
