    with a:

    Contrast Ratio of 500:1
    Brightness: 300cdm
    Response Time: 13ms
    Resolution: 1280x1024

im seriously considering about buying this

But whats the catch, other than the fact that its a Targa?
has anyone bought one of these?

Doesn't matter, they're all made by a small number of manufacturers and then the vendors brand them

A lot of Dell's are Hansol or AOC so I'd say this unit is from someone similar

Just a bump to get more info on this.

    13ms???

    I've only ever seen 8, 12, 16 etc.

Hi guys - a mate of mine recently purchased one of these monitors - just wondering if any of you have purchased/had problems?

He gets a BSOD when booting windows with the monitor attached. Fine with another monitor and fine wit this one if he attaches after windows boots up. Its the same with a laptop and desktop and Targa have also replaced the monitor with the same problem. Leaves me thinking there is an issue with the monitor driver but I cannot find an update for it anywhere! :(

Hope some of you can point me in the right direction!

    Thats very unusual

    Monitors shouldn't need drivers.

Funny, my brother-in-law is having a similar problem with his
LCD monitor (not a Targa). The monitor powers on but gives no picture at all on his PC with either integrated or AGP graphics. A CRT works fine and the LCD monitor works fine with other PCs. Really strange, I don't know if this is a driver issue or what ?
If anybody missed out on the Targa monitor in LIDL, I can heartily recommend the Acer AL1715MS from Pixmania
    http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/86524/art/acer/tft-screen-17-al1715ms-12.html
The specs on the Pixmania are incorrect, constrast ratio and brightness are the same as the Targa, and it has a 12ms response time. Comes to 242 including delivery.

There is a driver for it either use the Cd that came with it or run windows Update to get it.

Grand monitors nice pciture fairly clear and games run ok on them.

/ok being not good enough for me but to most its fine.

:) sorted now - needed a new graphics driver from Intel.
Even the Dell drivers would not fix it!!
