Just had a ball with my kids rating their teachers. I rated the teachers from my studies last year, and best of all, got to rate some of the teachers from my secondary school who are still teaching there (and getting really cool results) 20-odd years later!

Fanahans College is no more in Mallow than I am. I should know, as I spent 5 years there. Also did the site!

Its a crap site. Your basing ratings which can be biased on the student/teacher. For example a teacher could quite easily add a few fake students. You can also add fake schools/teachers to the list.

Yes, but the site owners still get money from their ads...oh...was that the whole point of the thing?
    Um.

To be honest, while it's possible to add fake reviews to influence a rating, when I look at the scores for the teachers of my old school they're bang on, and the comments are accurate too, for the good and the bad teachers. The same goes for various people in work who have looked up their old teachers.

Even though fake teachers can be added, all teachers and ratings have to go through an Administrator before they can be posted. So any comments like 'X is a Les' or 'I saw Y looking up my skirt' will be deleted.

It's far from closed. Indeed before it was mentioned on Morning Ireland the other week there were only about fifty schools rated, now there are over 700 rated with all the added publicity it has got.
