One for the Ladies - Can anyone recommend a good sports bra?

I'm a 34E and finding it very hard to get a decent sports bra in my size.

I have only ever found one that was any good - that was from Marks & Spencers. It was good because it was underwired and held everything in place when I was training.. (Non wired bra's are useless for me!)

I can't get the bra I want in M&S, so if anybody has any other recommendations, please pass them on. ;)

There's really only one sports bra worth talking about and that's the Berlei Shock Absorber, and it does come in larger sizes. There are four levels of the bra, with level 4 providing the strongest support. I'm 36D and have two of the bras, both level 4. And I find them excellent. I couldn't exercise without them. Literally.

You can buy them in Brown Thomas, but you might be able to find them cheaper on the net, maybe eBay or figleaves.com

    Are they underwired?

I got a couple of the non-wired shock absorber ones before (high impact - level 4), but I found they didn't give me the support I needed.

I did a search on the web this morning and came across this website. http://www.lessbounce.com. It looks good!

I'm still interested to hear any more recommendations though :)

Mine aren't underwired, which is odd because normally I couldn't go without underwiring. But the Berlei's manage it just fine.

I don't know what else to recommend, as I haven't used any other brand in years.

Yeah I was going to say Shock Absorber too!!!! :D I got mine in Arnotts (the fitting rooms there are quite big and have mirrors so you can see the front and back).. The ones I have aren't underwired and fasten at the side but I find them really good for support. I also have one I got in the states - its a Champion one that does have underwire but I find the Shock Absorbers better...

Have had lots of issues with this, too. I always buy a size smaller (I know this is probably not ideal) or else layer a thinner, wireless sports bra under a sturdier (if that's the word I want) one. Haven't tried the shock absorber, but will give it a whirl now.

Try the range on Bravissimo.com. They can be a bit pricey around €60 incl p+p, but my god are they worth it.

I am a 32F and I bought one of the ones they had on during the summer, I got a medium impact one and it is like a breastplate. It is underwired, slightly padded, has very wide straps and there is no restriction of movement. (except for your breasts). They can also be worn as outerwear.

I think they are great, I was initially dubious about ordering bras off the internet, but they have a 28 day money back guarantee. Unfortunately outside of the UK you have to pay the postage but how much does a it cost to take the bus to the shops.

I've used the shock absorber, maximum impact, and wasn't impressed. It ended up becoming my bedtime bra.

    Thanks for all the suggestions!

I bought another one in Marks and it's ok, but I think I'll check out your other suggestions as well (as its handy to have a few)
