I know this isnt a forum packed with doctors.. but has anyone had the kind of headcold that ends up with massive pressure between your ears? Me poor head is gonna explode. My ears wont pop like they do on the plane and Ive tried the pinch your nose trick but theres no pop.

Whats annoying too is I cant taste anything!! This has all been going on for about 4 days, and Im just wondering has anyone any little tips and tricks to get over it? Im dosing up on lemsip and getting loads of sleep. Other than that, Im not sure what else to do. :(

**DO NOT** try to pop your ears.

It would appear your Eustacian Tubes are blocked through phlegm or infection. Explain the situation to a pharmacist and get them to recommend something to clear it.

Don't "dose up" on Lemsip, read the instructions.

Talk to pharmacist and if it doesn't clear in a few days, go to doctor.

Ah yeah, I dont ever take more than whats on the box. What I mean by dose up is Im taking the maximum dosage as per the instructions.

A decongestant may help such as Olbas Oil or sudafed (read instructions on box carefully)......Talk to your pharmacist, they're free!

Do not blow your nose vigorously as it rams more up your eustachian tubes.

Do not use lemsips, they are a gimmick. Buy some honey/sugar, REAL lemons and some cloves. Then buy a box of paracetamol. Its much cheaper and much better for you. Knock in some whiskey and get some sleep.

If you are worried, go to a doctor......

LOCKED. DrIndy Banned. Now I remember why we don't like medical advice here.

Alcohol renders paracetamol useless. And it gives your liver a real hard time to break things down.
