From what I hear alot of it has to do with dropping Frankie Dolan.

They've had a very poor year so far. I know losing to Monaghan would make me resign! :D

Carr did very well in his first year.
    Less good in his second.
The third, so far, has been disasterous.

He brought in a very strict disciplinary code, and this was the reason Frankie Dolan was dropped from the panel (after a host of warnings).

The players had a meeting on Monday morning, and afterwards briefed the County board that they wanted rid of Carr. The County Board told Carr, so Carr offered his resignation.

as a rossie it boils me to see the team in such dire straits.no doubt dolan is probably our most talented player but also most tempermental. Results have been bad this year, thats one thing but our style of play and level of performance have been very poor. style of play is largerly due to tactics and condition of players(managers responsibility) and performance is due much to condition and motivation (largely managers responsibility), so perhaps carr going is a good thing. However he should have been let go at end of summer as he had lost the backing of the team long before the "players meeting" monday night.

What i was hoping for this year was promotion and a run to the quarter finals. Promotion is now an impossibility, and were now managerless facing in to two local derbies (longford and leitrim) i still fancy us to beat leitrim but longford may catch us as,seen as thats this wend the team might show a bit of bottle and pride and beat them.

Any body care who takes us over?

Delighted!! T Carr is a one year man. He has no tactics. The fact that we didnt play against kerry yr 1 was understandable,

y2 - decided against man-marking C.McDonald in the connaught final! and crap substitutions after the game was dead
y2 -lose to a really really bad dublin team. Ros only motivate to put on a good performance, not to win.

We dont have the players to win an all-ireland. Missing 1-2 scoring forwards but the new manager has a lot of work he can do

Talk of Val Daly (Galway) getting a go in the hot seat. Of course John O'Mahoney was mentioned - it's like Ger Loughnane being linked with every vacant hurling position. Although he doesn't have any managerial experience, would Shane Curran's flamboyancy bring anything to the team if he was given a shot? Knowing Shane, I'd say he'd jump at the opportunity, never one to shun a little bit of attention :D
