Sakura binoculars?

I want to get a decent pair of binoculars for a bit of stargazing plus some other stuff (all above board!!) and I can get a pair of Sakura 10-50 x 50 binoculars for a good price.

Anyone know anything about this make? Apparently Japanese, no "ruby coated lenses" you would get from the Chinese, should be ok for low light situations.

Never heard of them myself. Coated optics on binoculars are more for daytime viewing for less reflective glare and all that, so don't make the coating a factor in your decision, as you will use them for stargazing mostly I'd say, which will be at night..
