Apple WoW stock sold out !

I ordered a copy of the game last Wednesday along with a mini ipod and was speaking to apple this morning to check on delivery dates and they told me that WoW is now OUT OF STOCK and they're not expecting to get any copies in for at least 2 weeks (it doesn't say this on the site though).

Blizzard have purposely stopped releasing lots of copies to spread the load on the servers, and avoid too many people getting in at the same time. They did the same thing in the US. They're fully aware of the shortage as they caused it

Wa ha ha ha.....For those of us unlucky enough to be still without a copy of WoW, Apple was the last hope as nowhere else has it in stock but they did until last week !!!!

Crack? It's an MMORPG. You need a key to set up an account. I don't see any way around that.

Heh, yea, a cracked server where you ALWAYS get double XP, can learn any talent (not in order, whoever heard of an talent TREE), and get reset to level 5 because there's too many accounts on it...

I would be very surprised if it was technically possible for this to happen. You'd need a server which had somehow managed to get all the data from all the zones in WoW, had all the business rules in WoW, was capable of handling the bundles of users who connect (- Blizzard can't do this even while they get paid 22.5 million a month from paying subscribers, not sure how anyone can think they can do this for free on their home pc).

I played UO for months, paying a subscription like a sap. Then I discovered the free server.

I bought the game, paid for subscription for 18 months, and then I started playing on a 'friends' server.
The subscription fee is for the server maintenance, if there isnt a server...

ya, its definatly possible to play on cracked/emulated servers. now, at the momnet they dont work well, but they will get better as people get used to the coding. and they are updated fairly often.

would it be wrong/against board rules, to post a link to a forum(fairly popular) which tells people how to play on these servers?

saying that, i'm definatly gonna buy it. once blizzard hurry up and resupply ireland.

Seeing as it's against the EULA, yeah. If people are desperate to find it, they'll Google or whatever, but don't post the links here.

private servers are currently still miles away from Blizzard servers. there are so many server projects on at the moment it's getting ridicilous and the main contender with the best chance decides to sell his code

they do serve a good purpose in testing different items, weapons, armour and what effect will they have on your character as you can become a GM and spawn items, edit stats, etc.
