Sounds to me as its dead. Changing the voltage in the bios on a video card is something that i would never change my self.

I think its time for you to buy a new video card. Something like the x800xl AGP version from www.overclock.co.uk. There the only company that i have found to have this card in AGP and not PCI-Express.

Mmnn...Well is that the best card to upgrade too at the moment and i see that card is ont avalible on AGP at komplett which is my usual buyer... I was thinking of jsut buying anotehr 9800Pro form komplett @ 177€ , This a bad move ?

You would be better of with a nvidia 6600gt.
I'm only saying that because it has been said to me and many others.

Welll i know 6600GT's perform better but they have there problems like the AGp bridge or something overheats... and also its about €50 euro more expensive... I don't have much money as i have replaced my MOBO recently after my other died... Im jsut lost what ot do...Now i am thinknig of getting a sitty budget card say 5200 or 9550 and keepnig that for a month or two until i can get a nicer card.

I must warn you, i had a 5200 after my 9800pro died and its a really big downgrade (even if temp).
I'm having no problems with my 6600gt as of yet, never seen the temp go near 50celcius even after a lot of ut2k4.

Mmnn..I still don't know about a 6600GT though...Feels a bit budgety of the newer generation cards...

Well i would go for the card i mentioned above. But if you dont have that money to spend 320euro's then the 6600GT is good and somewhat cheaper. But if you cant make that buget then a new ATI9800 for the price your saying well then go for it.

But you might do better buying a second hand card. It all depends on how much money you have to spend.

Beats the 9800pro in very way. Very good value for the performance you get and can be got for €200 or so off komplett/where ever
(i own 9800, not an nvidia fanboy)

P i s s i n g away money on a temp card is stupid and a waste of money. It's €50-100 that could make the difference between a mid range card and a high end card at buying time.

You are better off in the long run holding out.....

Look i know how frustrating it is to have a gfx card blow out on you. When i built my first box i had a gainward gf4 4200 64mb that decided to pop on me after 6mths.

Replaced it with a €40 gf2 pro 64mb I got out of the bargain bucket in PC world. Got a 9800 non pro later that summer after about 5mths on the gf2.

You have 7000. It is crap but it will tie you over for a month or 2. Unless you get a really good deal on a 2nd hand gfx card hold out.

6600gt is 195 in Komplett and that aint bad. Also have a look at the 6800le for 230,think that can be OC'd to a 6800gt. theres a link around here somewhere two mins.........................................

    EDIT: Here it is

I had a GF265 die in such a way as to leave the 2D section perfect but the 3d part totally invisible. I thought it was the drivers, nope, then windows, nope (full reinstall of 2 diff OS's). Swapped it out for a 4200ti and all's been well since.

Actually this is kinda weird 'cos yesterday my 9800Pro just died and I also had an Arctic cooling VGA silencer on it !

I returned home yesterday to find that my screen was saying 'no input video' and that was all. Playing around with the card didn't help in the slightest way and it was only 6 months old so it's really pissing me off !

So thanks for the thread. I was about to start the same to find out what card to get to replace the 9800Pro.
