free news server in Ireland

    Hello All,

    I am with esat BB and I had problem using the esat news server.
    Does anybody know a free one that I can connect to? No binary
    stuff needed.

    If you have IOLBB, news.esatclear.ie and news.iol.ie both work.

    If you have business-class BB from Esat, use news.esat.net. The servers above may also work (actually news.esat.net and news.iol.ie are now the same box).

    Last I heard, UTV no longer have a news feed and the news server just carries some local UTV support groups. Many UTV users are using news.individual.net, a free service from Freie Universität Berlin but they'll start charging from April 1.

    I use Teranews - a full feed with binary groups and up to 50MB/day download for a once-off registration fee of $3.95
