Deviantart is probably the best place to get widescreen wallpapers. The wallpapers that came with my 17inch Vaio were surprisingly shiite.

Also, (plug plug plug...) I've made a few widescreen wallpapers myself, based on some nice movie scenes from Old Boy, Lost in Translation, stuff like that. The lovely Scarlett Johanssen... Hop along to JDBrookes.co.nr if you're interested.

    Adios

Don't like dragging posts up, but since this is relevant to deviantart, didn't feel like it was worth making an entire new thread. Even if it is somewhat... worrying.

Has anyone else actually read the entire new submission agreement?
From what I can gather, not having studied Law at Harvard, they're basically saying they can take any art posted on the site and do whatever the hell they want with it.

    This is alarming.

Nope, thats not what they're saying. Its the same submission agreement that was there for years, they just changed to slightly for the new deviant mobile feature. Its basically saying people can download your images to their mobiles. But they can't even do that if you disable to feature. So its nothing really to get up in arms about.

Just signed up myself. I've been using that place for ages, but always thought you needed to subscrobe. Obviously not. Great site, although, they need to get some new servers. It really slow, and there is horrible lag between submitting, and actually seeing your deviation in your gallery.

How do you join the irish community?

it takes a while to upload sometimes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 290 ✭✭Yv

yeah, sometimes it can take up to a day for newly-uploaded things to appear in the galleries. my enthusiasm for dA has faded somewhat - originally i thought it was brilliant that one's work could get feedback from so many ppl but then after a few months i realised most of the comments are like "wow thats gr8" with no constructive feedback at all. i then set up a photography account & put a notice on the front page encouraging constructive critisism & it seems to have helped a lot, so if you have the same problem try doing the same.

    god i sound egotistical

Ya I can see what you mean. I was totally flattered at first, then I started thinking: "Are these people crazy or something?"

It'd be nice to get constructive criticism alright. One person did and it was much appreciated.
