Totally agree with you. How the hell are we supposed to go out and paint the town green when we are working the next day ??

A bit stupid if you ask me. I couldn't go out last night because I was working today. And to add insult to injury my supervisor went home after a sudden bout of "food poisoning" !!!

Well, judging by the media coverage this morning, a lot of people seem to have had a wild night despite the fact that today is a working day. Those of you who are not hungover have done the right thing anyway, as IMO you DO NOT need to be drunk to enjoy St. Patricks Day.

yes you do. how else can you tolerate all the other drunk people if you're not drunk.

speaking of hangover cures, my prevention is the following,

drink lots of beer. try and sneak the odd glass of water and a few deep clean breaths in between rounds.
afterwards, go to kebab, burger shop and eat a meal.
go home and drink another glass or two of water. use the leithreas. sleep for ur usual ur time plus another half. maybe 12 hours.
get up, eat, and spend the rest of the early afternoon in a dressing gown reading the papers and thinking how nice it is not to feel unwell. oh actually, give the missus a good seeing to at least once.
however, this cure ... well it's not a cure.... requires you don't have to do anything the following day. ah i love being in college.

Well maybe you shouldn't tolerate people who feel the need to get drunk.

me too. never go straight to bed when u get home from a heavy nights beering, always stay up for a while, eat some toast and drink water. the more drunk u are when u go asleep, the worse you feel in the morning!

give the missus a good seeing to at least once.

this proves you did not drink enough as there is no way in hell "the missus"/your hand should be seeing any action until atleast 24 after your last beer

tennis don't be silly. if i didn't tolerate all the people "that feel the need to get drunk" i'd have zero friends and no family.

i think we need to remind ourselves that drinking isn't all that bad. obviously in an utopian society, we'd get rid of the need to poison ourselves.
it's just on occasion, people do stupid things due to drinking. and stupid people, do really stupid things due to drinking. however, alcohol greases the communication barriers for me a bit. don't know about you tennis.

so tennis, do u go to the pub with ur friends, watch them drink, stay sober and enjoy yourself? i find, on occasions like this, your friends and all the other drunk people take on a whole new shade of tediousness unless you've had a few yourself. is this just me?

until atleast 24 after your last beer

    nope your wrong.

last beer lets say 3am. home 4am. bed 5am. sleeping until 5pm! perfect timing. 14 hours.

anyway, exercise is good for hangovers.

Yes but there is a difference between drinking and getting drunk. Like most people I enjoy a few pints when I am out with friends and I too feel more chatty as a result. However having had some bad hangovers in the past, I am now careful to drink enough to have a good night but not enough to get drunk. Four pints would be my absolute limit!

I agree, drinking water is the magic hangover prevention. I've always done it, so even when I forget how I made it home I wake up with a glass of water beside me! But when I wake up in a tent or someone else's home I don't suffer either, so maybe I just don't get hangovers... not to rub it in or anything :)

My mother always suffered badly from hang-overs so I associated drink with hangovers. But luckily I've inherited my dad's appretiation for drink!

woke up at 7am... got sick in the bathroom... drank a few sips of water... threw that water back up 5 minutes later.

repeat ad nauseam until 1pm :o

thank god for the miracle cure that is a glass of andrews antacid and ****loads of 7up :)

A good hangover cure for those of you suffering: normal oj mixed with red oranges juice and a little splash of cranberry juice. Now you add the magic ingredient - A dissolvable vit C tablet.

Stir it all up and sip slowly within about half an hour you should be feeling a bit better. Combine with pain killer of your choice for the headache and it works like a charm.

I will probably be drinking this tomorrow morning as I've a 21st to go tonight ;)
