Did this really warrent another idiotic, closed, leading poll? For example, I spent part of the day catching up on configuring my home LAN fileserver, and I certainly wouldn't consider that nothing...

I'm working, because like most Irish, I am no longer Irish. I am a mindless EU corporate automaton whose only purpose in life is to make money to pay for things which I either don't need, or pay too much for, so that I am forced to continue working on public holidays, weekends etc.

'Fun' and 'craic' are counter-productive, and can cause a loss of efficiency in the workplace, which in turn means the corporations will get peeved, and move out to exploit third world workers, making Ireland less competitive, and ruining the celtic tiger that everyone else is creaming off of. I have stopped smoking and even drinking on 'school-nights' because that might make me take an extra sick day once or twice a year. Next, I will eat only organically grown leaves and seaweeds to ensure I never get sick from 'Ghandi's revenge' or any other ailment.

But it's worth it... Ireland is great now, isn't it? Isn't it??

    :confused::confused::confused::confused:

I was supposed to be working, but luckily my shift got switched to yesterday, so I spent most of the afternoon in bed, sleeping!

Jesus Kernel,You are one bitter young chappie!
Its obvious the main problem here lies with your chosen career path yet you persist in blaming the country for your unhappiness.Ireland has a lot to offer if you're willing to look for it.stop feeling so sorry for yourself and thank your lucky stars your from A relatively peaceful country.I'm guessing you're trying to escape from the corporate hell you find yourself in and i'm guessing when you find a career that you're enthusiastic about then you'll be a lot happier in this under-rated little country of ours.

I did not get out of bed until after 1pm - was in London last weekend and did not have time to recover until now...at least there are a few short weeks ahead :)

Hate to break it to ya Cathy but a week is constant and will be the same length of time throughout the year apart from when the clocks change twice a year.Don't worry tho there are a couple of bank holidays coming up

Working till 7, stayed in tonight. Working at 8am and lots of other work people will be out tomorrow night as it's friday. So I'll be out then, even though I'm working at 8am on Saturday too.

Woke up at 8:30am at the sound of a text message, from my mate the "forgot" I had to work at 8pm that night.

    Fell asleep.

Woke up at 2:30pm from my brother was shouting downstairs. Of course, everyone would shout while someone is in bed trying to sleep.

3pm, got up, rang the girlfriend to tell her i'm on my way up to her.

3:15pm. Sitting in my car, at the top of the estate waiting for a parade to go by.

3:25pm. Still waiting, so I ring the girlfriend to tell her I'm gonna be late. Alas, she gives out to me, and i remind her that she has nothing better to do anyways.

3:45pm. Parades over, i burn up to the girlfriend.

5pm. Into Spurs Steakhouse. Wait 45mins for a garlic bread(which was pretty damn tasty), only to wait 20 minutes for my steak which is charcoal. Get a replacement 15minutes later.

7pm. Drop the girlfriend home, head home, stopping off at work for a 12hour night-shift.

I remember the parade thingy, but it felt like any other Sunday to me. What St Patricks Day.
