"Campfire" Songs

I'm now at the stage with guitar where i can play solos, stay in key, finger pick etc, but this isn't the best when all you have is an acoustic guitar at your friends party or at a campfire(whatever).

Basically i'm looking for some well known songs that i can play and sing along too when i'm not exacly sober or awake, 3-chord songs, 5-chord songs, whatever, just songs that i can strum along and let someone else do the thniking for.

    Anyone got any tips?

also links would be nice :D

anything by oasis cause everyone knows the words, the weight by the band, actually just play variations of 12 bar and go round the circle with each person having to make up a verse as you play-always hilarious.

Stuff like Karma Police or Street Spirit by Radiohead or Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World is always good. Anything mellow and generally acousticy really. Maybe Volcano by Damien Rice or West of Her Spine by BellX1?

  • you got any decent Bell x1 tabs?

Nah. They're not exactly easily available. Your best bet would be to try and figure them out yourself, which I'm far too lazy to do.

  • I'm shockingly bad at playing by ear, and the tabs that i've found arent the best.

Chromatics from Hell by Yngvie Malmsteen always goes down a treat. Also Reign in Blood is good

You could play the whole of Nirvana unplugged!

Beatles songs usually work well, Oasis too as was said.

I usually just ask people what song they wanna sing and wing it in them situations and usually it turns out fine!

Someone said Radiohead, I love Radiohead but I'd try to avoid singing Street Spirit or Karma Police tbh....Fake Plastic Trees and High and Try are usually pretty good and Paranoid Android if you have a particularly Radioheadesque audience the 3rd section with all the oooohs and ahhh can be ideal ha ha!

Oh i'm so bored in work....so bored!
