I've gotten loads, and of course they are all bull****... just people wanting to see how far their letter can get. Usually they say something like, "send this email to 10 people and Bill Gates will pay 10$ to charity etc.." Bill has no idea who you send the mail to. Likewise, threatens with being cursed are just another ploy to keep the mail being sent.

They're all of a load of bull. I've stopped people from sending them to me by looking up the facts and proving them wrong.

    http://www.snopes.com

Now I don't get any more chain letters :)

Like, when someone sends you a mail saying baby Johnny McSomething is dying of cancer, and each e-mail you send Microsoft will donate $1 to a fund to help save him. Look up the name on Snopes and they'll have the facts to disprove it. Usually it's just someone that thinks they're funny, or trying to see how far the mail will go.

If you mean the part about where something bad will happen to you if you break the chain then yes they are a load of bull. There has been some evidence that if you believe that breaking the chain will cause something bad and then you break the chain anyway that something bad can happen, but it's only your own belief that it will happen that causes it, not the letter itself.

Chain letters in general are started by sad, lonely, little people with no lives who think it'll be great if something they do gets seen by millions of people.

Burning things is a traditional and very effective way of getting rid of things we don't need. (helps burn the negative thoughts or memories associated out of our conscience too)
I suggest you do the same with any type of chain mail letters, particularly if they are threatening.

I wasn't sure weather you all would think they were crap, but when i was in school and we heard a girl got a chain letter we ran a mile. hoped to god we wouldn't get it. They terrified us as kids.
what about the quaji board, anybody ever have any experience with one of them ?

Yes, I've used one, and gotten some results. Whether it was our own subconsious minds or whatever, who can tell. There is something to the phenomenon of the ouija board, and also the seance (knock once for yes, twice for no etc.), but I'd say that the general advice is not to mess with them.

You never get much sense or information from them, and they have been associated with other unpleasant paranormal experiences. Whenever I used them, I always had great difficulty sleeping, had that feeling of someone watching... and I was not a great believer. Probably all in my head! :)

Nothing useful from ouija boards though.

What do you all think about the new filim the Ring 2, I have seen some clips on the making and i **** my self.
The Ring 1 was great, i looked up the web and there is a light house exactly the same as the one in the filim, it also tell about the story behind the filim and were they got the idea from, its wort a look if any body is intrested.

Well the film makers probably just picked out a light house that suited their needs and used it for the film, it doesn't really mean anything funny really happened there. Altough for some reason a lot of lighthouses seem to have 'stories' behind them.

No it is the light house they filimed at, There was a whole web page dedacaited to the light house and the settlers around it.
Even shows the village and they spoke to a local resident amd they told the history of the light house and that it was looked after by a young family.
but the young newly wed's didin't stay long up there cos there was sightings and noises and doors banging, they heard a man or being walking up the winding stairs and that was enough for them they left.
so the light house in the ring has it's own history and a story or two to tell.
