Right. Seen this alot (I get bus into FAS). Girls wearing school bags in front(as opposed to on their backs). I don't get it. Is it a fashion thing, or what? Would this not be unhealthy as it'd put more pressure on the spine, than if it was on the back.

I think its stoopid, but bags aren't the only things chicks have trouble getting to grips with, they wear their jackets back to front too

It's done for easy access to the ciggarettes in the front pocket, and because they think it hides the pregnancy.

Usually worn by people who think that a pick pocketer is going to open their bag from the back and rob them and they wont realise. Also convenient when using public transport as is more comfortable and easier when getting off the bus, i.e. can use hands to keep balance while bus/train is moving instead of using them to put bag back on back.

Handy but completely uncool.... Like the fanny pack

    I...just...don't...get...it tbh.
It's something foreign students brought in. Apparently your goods in the bag are safer that way..

It's the "cool thing" in my school, so I obviously dont do it.

easy access, personally i dont do it but when myself and the boyfriend went on holiday,i hurt my back so he carried both back packs and we kept all the stuff like money and phones in mine as it was easy to get to. he looked reall stupid and wouldnt let me take photos of him :(

  • Most Spanish city kids wear their backpacks like that because there's such a pickpocking problem there. I think they brought it over here. I think it's a good idea in theory but too impractical for me as it gets in the way

It was one of those breif fads circa 1991 in Dublin too, Because of the Spanish students, I think.

Only person I ever knew who did it was a girl in my class in 6th year to cover her bump!

Its easier when sitting on the bus and for getting things from side pockets such as phone or money as it sometimes falls out of your pockets if they aint got zips.

    it looks completely knacker

If a school bag is pretty heavy it can be easier for a girl to carry to the front
then on thier backs. Just to do with the way they are built.

Girls do it sometimes just normally,i tried to do it once as i was balancing all my stuff in my arms to transfer it but stopped immediatly cause it hurt

Most of the time when I see people doing it, it's 'cause they have two bags and obviously can't carry them both on their back. Like when you've got a PE bag as well.

    ?

Would it not squish your breasts uncomfortably?

    Looks sad anyway imo.
