yeah i know of one that works good, i can't remember the name though.. mmmmm, but i can see the bottle in my head if that helps??

*edit* Kalms - <thats the one:) start taking it today (as if you were takin a pain killer) and you should be nice and relaxed for your flight

From what I understand they're all much the same but don't buy one without talking to the chemist first especially if you are prone to siezures or anything like that. You could always have a couple of drinks before you get on the plane if that helps?

Nytol or one of the herbel remedies are probably gonna be your best bet.

You gonna pick up the Schecter?

damn skippy im pickin up the schecter. Its 11 hours to Atlanta ( which doesnt seem right to me) then 3 hour layover then hour and a half to Detroit i think. So its a hardcore flight day.

11 hours? Are you going via Russia or something? And I demand pictures of the Schecter upon your return.

i'm headin to colorado next year which is apparently a 12 hour flight, i am NOT lookin forward to that!!:( i hate flyin..

i recommend going to the doc cos that's what i'll be doing, he may give you a small prescription if you beg and say you have a phobia of flying..

11 hours doesnt make any sense to me. i've flown there before and it was only 9 hours

Is it possible the flight is going over the Arctic instead of the Atlantic? Or perhaps it did the last time you flew there.

Try not take so many pills that you're unconcious for the full 11 hours. Get two hours sleep, then take 5 minutes to go for a brief wander and go to the toilet, etc. You'll feel much better for it at the end.

Who you fly with has more to do with it than anything else. Did a 22 hr. flight last year on Air France and it was hell...poor leg space and no in-flight entertainment.
In comparison, just back having done both legs of a KLM flight on a 777 - great leg space and in-flight entertainment - with a good selection of movies/tv shows. Combine that with a few hours kip and a couple of meals and there was no pain whatsoever.

Flying with Delta, who ive always enjoyed flying with before so i see no problem on that side of things. but and 11 hour flight followed by a layover and another flight is horrible

bad idea getting drunk on a long haul flight, you'll really pay for it when you set down.
sleeping pills should be safe enough on a 11hour flight but no longer really - valum is the way to go

If your knocked out for hours do you not run the risk of clots?? Anyhoos I've only ever tried Nytol and they were shytol :D did nothing at all and i even took an extra few for good luck!

yeah thats the problem. pills dont ususally work on me. Screw it , im headin down town now and ill just buy a couple bottles of somethin and sort it out on the plane tomorrow.

A good plan might be to take an aspirin the day before your flight. I read somewhere recently(couldn't find the link) that even on flights lasting only 4 hours, pretty much everybody in the study showed changes in their clotting factors and leg vein elasticity.

I've had 2 friends who suffered swelling on flights and in one of them a blood clot that had to be treated. An aspirin can't do any harm anyway.Just a thought.

I'd take it easy on the drink as it causes dehydration and increases the risk of deep vein thrombosis.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

try Natrasleep or one of the similar Herbal ones - Boots or most Chemists have one. You take them 30 mins before hand and normally wake up refreshed . I take them every few weeks when I have trouble sleeping.
