new xd card

    i bought an olympus xd card for a fuji a210 fonefix camera -when i install the card i get the message-card not initialized-i have formatted the card but i continue to get this message-any advice much appreciated.

    I had a similar problem before and found that I needed to use a FAT format to get the card to work. Assuming that you are using a PC to format the card.

    has it ever worked?

    does it work in other cameras?

    can you save and open files onto it in a PC card reader?

    what size is the card as some cameras have issues with very large cards?

    the camera still works-it came equipped with 16mb card and this is a 128 mb card-i can transfer files onto the new card via my computer but despite all attempts i am still getting the card not initialized message.

    the penny finakky dropped-there is an option to format the card in video mode on the camera which fixed it-thanks for all the advice.
