went to buy my official copy yesterday, in both cavan and enniskillen.
Is there some sort of backwardness gene? whenever i try and get games(that dont involve guns) on their release date, they are not in.

When i was in england, the mail order companies sent them out the week before, and u can get most titles for £17.99, or 1/2 the irish price!

I still adore GPL but after GTR and to a lesser extent GTP, GPL has taken a step down my ladder

Hope so. But im always a bit suspicous of the ISI engine, no matter how much they try and persuade me otherwise, this is a pay mod.

Played the demo and thought it was 100% arcade compared to Live for Speed, any comments?

Thats because the demo does not include simulation mode.

Live for Speed also has some significant problems:
Static Camber, very basic aero model. No tyre thermal model, serious issues with the aligning torque due to the static camber(the force feedback is directly taken from the aligning torque).
Another problem with the static camber is that the contact patch is only changed due to deformation in the tyre walls, and without a major manufacturer the data will of course be very limited; tuning will occur to achieve "reasonable behaviour" in the models.

But its early days, and release S2 of LFS will cure these things.

the real problem in LFS for me was always the sound, the cars sounded like household appliances rather than race cars. it was the only real let down.

Yeah i love LFS but sound is terrible alright.
