My Sky + box has started missing the end of programmes when I set it to record. It seems to be starting to record very early - maybe 5 or six minutes before the programme starts & then missing the last 5 or six minutes.

The clock seems in sync with programme times - anyone any ideas whats causing this ??

I wonder have you tried rebooting, ie power off and wait a few minutes and then power on!!! A reboot sometimes sorts things out!!!

Press "Services", then 5 for Sky+ Setup, and try changing the "Add to start of recording" and "Add to end of recording" settings to see if you can get a combination that suits you.

I add 5 minutes to the start and 10 minutes to the end. It seems to work well.

Except to set up a manual recording. Grounded for life is now somewhere in a 2 hour manual recording block. I noted it was 20 mins late on night, and another week it was on 15 mins early. Not a happy camper at all :(

Thanks for that - I hadn't realised there was an option.

Seems to be on all the channels, main ones I record from are ITV3, & the Discovery H & L set

ITV3 in keeping with ITV1 is rather loose on timngs, usually late.
I am convinced ITV do this on purpose as with all the regional variations everything has to be timed to the second, it is probably a marketing ploy to get/keep more viewers.

Discovery and most other similar satellite channels are usually spot on with times so if you are getting progs cut off it could be the box. As said, adding on extra before and after is a good idea for peace of mind if nothing else.
