Unfortunatly it's not 'just a cd' that you'd be paying €100+ for, it's the right to use the software that comes on it that costs so much. AFAIK there's no legit way to just buy a copy of the cd without paying for the license too.

i already have the license to use the software

the certificate of auth. is the important bit and i have that.

when we deploy servers via RIS we use the same product key in the aunattened file but use different COA stickers on each machine and this is legal

I have checked it with our Microsoft account manager

This is probably a volume license key intended for that purpose ?

Either way from you posted you just bought a case that happened to have the sticker on it. I'm not totally sure but I don't think that counts as a license, altough probably whoever sold you the case technically should have removed the sticker. If you had of bought the full PC with MCE on it then I think the license would also be transferred to you, and if it didn't have MCE then the seller should have provided valid licenses for whatever OS was on it. All you bought was the case though which is only a part of the PC. Again, I'm not totally sure about that, maybe you could check with your microsoft account manager to be sure.

You just bought a case; you almost certainly have no right to a copy of the software. You could try getting a media repalcement from the OEM, bbut don't bet on it.

I think optiplex was saying that he didn't use Windows Media Thing. Tho I think it's unreasonable to expect him to use them ALL :). (Actually I think it's unreasonable to expect people to use them at all, but that's just me)
