Anyone using an Irish based fax service, where I don't have to have a phoneline tied up and have to use this antequated technology directly? I really only need to have a fax number for the odd person who still uses the medium and to send a few from time to time back.
    Thanks, iwb

There is a crowd based in Galway but the name escapes me. Came across them a few months ago. I think I might still have info at home. If I do, I'll pass it on.

http://www.efax.com has a paid service that converts faxes to emails. AFAIK You can sign up for a Dublin number.
A fax modem will let you send electronic documents outward.

Yac do what you're looking for, but not for free. I've used their service years ago in the UK (when it was a free premium rate number you got) and had no problems with it .. can't comment on their Irish service, or their service of late though. They use national rate 0818 numbers unless you pay more for geographic numbers... http://url.ie/56
