I need to get a list of hotels with bars in Galway city to book for a stag weekend. There's going to be about 12 going. We'll be arriving by train so fairly central (& in-expensive) is best.

    Any ideas ?

Hey man the Imperial is the best I hear, apparently the bar doesnt shut and they let you run riot around the place. They specialise in stags etc.

Off the top of my head:

    Spanish Arch Hotel
    Brennans Yard
    Jurys Inn
    Great Southern
    Imperial

They're all in town and all have bars.

There's an Ibis and a Travel Lodge on the outskirts of town, not sure about bars there though.

My brother told me that he has been on a few stags there and they were running through the corridors and the staff just let them carry on, and the bar didnt close. supposed to be nice rooms aswell. Im going down there this weekend but didnt find out abouqt this place till last night and I have somewhere else booked.

Eyre Square Hotel, Victoria Hotel, Foster Court Hotel, Great Southern, Garveys Hotel are all within 30 seconds walk of the train station, smack bang in the middle of town.

Make sure you ring them and ask about the bar before you book though.

If you want to destroy the place though, i'd recommend the imperial. :D

Allright, stay away from the Eyre Square hotel if anyone in the group is looking to bring a friend back for the night. They really are not in the slightest bit accomadatng when it comes to that sort of thing. As I found out much to my dissapointment.

I'd stay away From Eyre Square Hotel (Red Square) and the Vic — same owner, same strict policy.

Ibis, Jurys and the likes don't keep the bar open past 1.30am.

I'd try the Imperial — it's not the Hilton, but, indeed, the bar does stay open and it should be reasonably cheap.
